לונדון, מיה ומקהלת בית הספר היהודי JFS עליה ניצחה בשנים בהן המשפחה חיתה בלונדון, לקראת הופעה בקהלת פנים בנוכחות מלכת אנגליה אליזבת השניה והדוכס מאדנבורו, 22/6/1970. ראו כאן את מכתב התודה שקיבלה בשעתו.

מיה קיבלה הנחיה לעטות כפפות ללחיצת היד המלכותית: אחת מבנות המקהלה החזיקה את הכפפות מאחורי גבה במהלך הקונצרט, אך מיה הספיקה ללבוש רק כפפה אחת לפני שהוצגה בפני המלכה.
1970, Dorchester Hotel Londodn. Maya, her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second, and dignitaries of the Jewish community in London, following a concert Maya conducted.
She was instructed to wear gloves for the royal introduction, one of the children hid the gloves behind her back during the performance, but alas, Maya only had time to don one glove before the introduction commenced.
